Job Description
What you'll be doing
To inspect the place of work to determine whether any machineries, plants, equipments, substances, appliances or process or any description of manual labour used in the place of work, is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work.
To assist Safety and Health Officer / Project Manager on measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of the person employed in the place of work.
To investigate, analyze and maintain statistics on any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which has happened in the place of work.
To assist the project team / Safety and Health Committee, pursuant to regulations of the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Committee in organizing and implementing occupational safety and health programme at the place of work.
To review Environmental Aspect Impacts based on work activities.
To ensure implementation of environmental program and provide enforcement support at project site.
To conduct regular site inspections and follow up actions to ensure compliance with legal requirements, EIA Approval Condition and EMP (Environmental Management Plan).
To identify potential source of pollution and relevant environmental aspect impacts followed by proposing appropriate mitigation plans and supervise corrective measures to be taken.
To be secretary to the Safety, Health and Environmental Committee, and perform all functions of a secretary as specified in that regulations.
To assist the Safety, Health and Environmental Committee in any inspection of the place of work for the purpose of checking the effectiveness and efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with the Act or any regulations made under the Act.
To carrying out the respective duties under the Act or any regulations made under the Act.
To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as instructed by the superior.
What we're looking for
Diploma in Safety and Health or related qualification.
Registered as a certified Safety Officer / Supervisor with DOSH (with valid yellow/green book).
Candidate must have Cepswam/CISEC/ CESSWI/ LDP2M2 Competent Certificate.
Must be familiar with DOSH, DOE Act, rules, regulations and requirements.
Competent to handle Safety, Environment and Hygiene matters.
Familiar with Environmental Management System (EMS).
Candidate with experience in handling Data Centre project will add an advantage.
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literate and able to write and communicate in English.
Able to demonstrate high degree of commitment with initiative, willingness to accept the challenges and able to work under pressure.
To understand Project policy for safety, schedule, cost and quality and support Project Manager to achieve them on all site activities.
