Job Summary:
The Social Media Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall social media strategy and execution. This position assists the Social Media Manager in developing, implementing, and managing social media campaigns, content creation, community engagement, and performance analysis. The ideal candidate is highly creative, data-driven, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong understanding of current social media trends and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning Support:
● Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive social media strategies aligned with overall marketing and business objectives.
● Contribute to the creation of social media calendars, content plans, and campaign outlines.
● Research industry trends, competitor activities, and audience insights to inform strategy.
Content Creation & Curation:
● Support the creation of engaging, high-quality, and on-brand content for various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.). This may include:
§ Writing compelling copy and headlines.
§ Sourcing or creating visuals (images, videos, graphics).
§ Assisting with video production and editing.
§ Adapting content for different platform specifications and audience preferences.
● Curate relevant third-party content to share with the audience.
● Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, tone of voice, and legal requirements.
Community Management & Engagement:
● Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages.
● Engage with the online community in a timely, authentic, and professional manner.
● Respond to customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints, escalating to relevant teams when necessary.
● Foster positive relationships with followers and identify opportunities for user-generated content.
● Support the planning and execution of social media contests, giveaways, and interactive campaigns.
Influencer/ KOL Management:
● Develop and execute influencer marketing strategies, campaigns, and content plans, aligned with overall marketing goals and brand messaging.
● Identify, vet, and onboard relevant influencers, negotiate contracts, and manage ongoing relationships.
● Manage the influencer marketing budget, campaign costs, and related expenses.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
● Track and analyze social media performance metrics (e.g., reach, impressions, engagement rate, click-through rates, conversions) using analytics tools.
● Assist in generating regular reports on social media performance, highlighting key insights, successes, and areas for improvement.
● Monitor social media trends and algorithm changes to optimize content strategy.
● Support A/B testing of social media content and strategies.
Paid Social Media Support:
● Assist in the planning and execution of paid social media campaigns, including audience targeting, ad creative development, and budget management.
● Monitor campaign performance and make recommendations for optimization.
Website Content Updates:
● Working with other departments, such as marketing, IT, and design, to ensure the website content is updated whenever a new seasonal campaign launches.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
● Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Marketing, PR, Sales, Product, and Customer Service to ensure consistent messaging and integrated campaigns.
● Liaise with external partners, agencies, or influencers as required.
Stay Up-to-Date:
● Continuously research and stay informed about the latest social media trends, platform updates, tools, and best practices.
● Identify new opportunities for social media growth and innovation.
Qualifications:
Education:
● Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience:
● 2-4 years of experience in social media marketing, preferably in an agency or in-house marketing team.
Technical Skills:
● Proficiency with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) for business use.
● Experience with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, Google Analytics, platform native insights).
● Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express) and/or video editing skills (e.g., CapCut, basic Adobe Premiere Pro) are a plus.
● Familiarity with social media advertising platforms (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager) is a plus.
● Strong understanding of SEO principles for social media content.
