Job Description
Job Purpose:
To ensure the company’s products, processes, premises, and documentation comply with Malaysian Halal certification requirements as per JAKIM standards. The Halal Executive will play a key role in maintaining the company’s Halal certification, liaising with certification bodies, and ensuring Halal integrity throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Halal Compliance & Certification
Ensure all products, ingredients, and processes comply with the Manual Prosedur Pensijilan Halal Malaysia (MPPHM) and Standards Malaysia (MS 1500).
Coordinate new Halal certification applications, renewals, and extensions with JAKIM / JAIN / other recognised bodies.
Maintain and update the Halal Assurance System (HAS) and related documentation.
🔹 Internal Audits & Inspections
Conduct internal Halal audits and prepare for external audits from certification authorities.
Monitor and inspect Halal compliance in production lines, storage, transportation, and handling procedures.
Address non-compliance issues and propose corrective action plans.
🔹 Liaison & Documentation
Serve as the key liaison officer with Halal authorities, suppliers, and internal departments.
Manage all Halal-related documentation, including Halal certificates from suppliers, ingredient specifications, and Sijil Halal Malaysia.
Prepare Halal files for inspection and keep them up to date.
🔹 Training & Awareness
Organise and conduct Halal awareness training and refresher courses for staff.
Promote understanding of Halal requirements across all relevant departments.
🔹 Product Development Support
Review and approve new ingredients and formulations from a Halal perspective before launch.
Work closely with R&D and procurement teams to ensure all ingredients and raw materials are Halal-certified.
Requirements:
✅ Qualification
Diploma/Degree in Halal Management, Shariah, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Halal Executive Certificate (CHE) by INHART/USIM/JAKIM-approved body is an added advantage.
✅ Experience
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Halal compliance or Halal assurance, preferably in an FMCG, F&B, or manufacturing industry.
✅ Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of MS 1500, MPPHM, and Halal industry standards.
Familiarity with ISO/HACCP/GMP will be advantageous.
Good command of Bahasa Malaysia and English (both written and spoken).
Meticulous, organized, and able to manage documentation efficiently.
Able to work independently and liaise with JAKIM/JAIN effectively.
Additional Information:
Must be Muslim, as per JAKIM guidelines for Halal Committee members.
Willing to travel for site audits or supplier inspections if needed.
Candidates with experience working with the e-Halal system will be prioritised.
