Job Title: Engineer / Assistant Manager, Operations (Solar – Utility & C&I)
Location: HQ, Kuala Lumpur (occasional site travel required)

About the Role
We are seeking a technically driven and proactive Operations Engineer / Assistant Manager, Operations to join our HQ-based Asset Operations team. You will support the day-to-day operational management of over 200 MWp of Solar (Utility & C&I) assets across Malaysia.
This role offers hands-on involvement in field operations, technical coordination, and maintenance planning. You will also gain exposure to new project development and retrofit initiatives to enhance plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
⚙️ Operations & Site Coordination
Support Plant Managers in implementing site operations plans and resolving daily technical issues
Track fault reports, maintenance activities, and work progress across multiple solar plants
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, technical standards, and HSE protocols
🛠️ Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Assist in planning and tracking preventive maintenance for inverters, trackers, switchgear, and PV modules
Review work reports and test results (IR, IV curve, thermography), and coordinate vendor engagement
Follow up on open issues, root cause investigations, and spare part requests
🔌 Technical & Vendor Interface
Coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for site services and equipment replacement
Review technical proposals for corrective works and validate completion evidence
Assist in evaluating contractor performance based on field execution
📊 Reporting & Performance Support
Maintain asset issue tracker, downtime logs, and equipment availability records
Provide operational data inputs for performance analysis and energy loss classification
Support monthly operations reports and management dashboards
🚧 Project & Retrofit Involvement
Assist in technical coordination for new solar projects, retrofits, and enhancement works
Participate in readiness inspections, punch list closure, and commissioning support
Contribute to development of technical forms, inspection templates, and asset lifecycle procedures
Requirements
Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable Energy Engineering or equivalent
3–6 years of experience in solar PV O&M, commissioning, or site coordination
Solid understanding of solar PV systems, including inverters, trackers, transformers, SCADA and other balance of systems
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and SCADA/monitoring systems
Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Willing to travel occasionally to support site-level operations
Preferred (Bonus Points)
Familiarity with Huawei, Sungrow, or other inverter systems
Familiarity with medium and high voltage substations
Exposure to regulatory compliance (ST, SEDA, TNB) and ISO audit preparation
