Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the Group's legal affairs to ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Provide strategic legal advisory support to the Board and cross-functional teams on matters related to land, project development, acquisitions, disposals, leases, tenancies, and service arrangements.
Advise on legal risks and implications throughout the project lifecycle, from land acquisition and planning to post-delivery matters involving purchasers.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of corporate and commercial agreements, including joint venture agreements, shareholders' agreements, project management agreements, non-disclosure agreements, service agreements, tenancy and lease agreements, and other relevant contracts.
Oversee the Group’s conveyancing matters, including legal documentation related to the sale and purchase of land and property developments.
Manage the Group’s litigation matters, including coordination with external legal counsel and review of legal strategies, cause papers, and submissions.
Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory updates to ensure ongoing compliance and provide guidance on legal changes that may impact the company organisation.
Identify, assess, and mitigate potential legal risks associated with new business initiatives, transactions, and day-to-day operations.
Coordinate with external solicitors, consultants, and regulatory authorities on complex or specialised legal issues impacting the Group.
Provide legal insights and solutions in support of operational strategies and business growth, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and legal best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) with a recognized professional legal qualification and admission to the Malaysian Bar.
Minimum 10 years of combined experience in legal practice and in-house legal management, with strong exposure to corporate, conveyancing, and litigation matters in the property and real estate industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations governing property development, real estate transactions, land matters, and housing legislation.
Proven experience in project development, property acquisitions, tenancy and lease administration, as well as banking facilities and end-financing arrangements.
Well-versed in project conveyancing processes across all phases of property development is a MUST.
Strong expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, with keen attention to legal detail and risk mitigation.
Solid litigation background, with thorough knowledge of court procedures and effective dispute resolution strategies.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Effective leader and collaborative team player, with excellent communication, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills.
